Hi everyone
2 weeks ago I got new board (Asus P4B266), CPU (Intel Celeron 2,4 Ghz) and 256 MB DDR. I have XP Pro intalled since then. BIOS version was 1005.
When the PC was booting, I could see the message " BIOS: BIOS update data incorrect. CPU ID=00000F29".
I've been getting several PC freezes every day, without relation to any specific aplication.
I tried upgrading the BIOS to the latest version, 1010, with no results.
I ran Norton Antivirus with the latest DAT files, and also several adware/spyware scanners, and the PC seems pretty clean to me, although the task manager shows 3-4 svchost.exe processes running. When I try to stop them a window appears telling me the PC will shutdown in 60 seconds (the kind of thing W32.Blaster does).
Is it a virus? Is it a BIOS problem? Any ideas?
Thanks
