I found a blank text file named SQL in
C:\Documents and Settings\myusername\Local Settings\Temp
and I cannot delete it, even w/Killbox.
Is this file important? If not, how do I delete it?
Any help would be most appreciated.
Thanks

Are you using any kind of database? Look carefully. For example, I notice that the newer Veritas BackupExec used MS SQL so it may be possible for some programs to use a database even if you aren't aware of it.

I am not running a database of any kind. My initial concern was is someone else using my PC as a hub for their database. I can't figure why it is undeletable, and can't identify what is attached to it.

try restarting the pc in safe mode (f8 at boot screen) and see if you can delete it. Do you have a firewall & av installed. If not there are some faqs here that will tell which good ones are available for free.

That rug really tied the room together, did it not?

I have symantec(current) along with Spybot, adaware, spy subtracter, and hijack this.
I don't currently use a firewall because zone alarm and black ice tend to jack with my POP3 and the jetico doesn't let anything in even on the minimum settings. Any suggestions?

I was able to successfully delete the file in safe mode. I suspect it was from a file sharing system or a disgruntled ex-employee. The doug knox site has some good info.
Thanks guys
