A while ago Photoshop and Camera Raw started acting weird.
When I view images they look like the right side of the attached image.
I have no idea why and I am not able to fix it.

The left side of the image show what it looks like after I save and view in almost any other image browser except for IE Explorer which is also weird.

If you are not able to see the problem it consists of the image gradients being very very rough.

Hope you guys can help.

Martin

Hi Parkush, I'm not sure due to your image's quality, but the right part is clearly posterize. That happens when you reduce the number of available colors. Are you sure to save in 24bit format. GIF file with poor choosen options can give that result. I suggest you check your image is actually RGB (24bit) color mode and save it as a .psd file. Do you still have same poor result ?

Hello Cebebe

Thank you for your reply.

The imgaes I work on are all 24bit.

I know the image quality of the test picture is quite low but it was just an example.

It does not seem to matter which format I save the file in, Photoshop always shows them like the right side of the test image.

The thing is that when I save the image or view it in any other image browser it looks the way it is supposed to.

It is only Photoshop and IE explorer which have problems.

Regards
Martin

Hello again Cebebe.

Just to let you know that I fixed the problem.

It was right under my nose and you did help.

I knew that all my images were in the right bit depth and that photoshop was set up right.

The problem was that someone had changed my screen settings from 32 to 16 bit.

Thanks

So, finally, it was a bit-depth problem.
Happy for you and Happy New New Year !
