Hi folks,

Hope everyone is well. I have a very strange problem here at work.

The printers (HP 4100 + 5000) and a Fiery have started printing blank pages or incomplete pages. This started happening yesterday. I moved all the printers to a new print server, but the problem has returned (moving print servers worked for a while)

Has anyone ever come across anything like this before? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance,

Abbadon

I couldn't find it in the Symantec site with a quick search, but I've read about viruses that are badly coded that search for network shares with weak passwords that cause printers to print garbage. Basically the virus tries to hack at the printer, thinking it's a computer since it's answering to an IP.

This would sound about right in your case.

I'll have to investigate that, I had thought something like that might be happening but our Anti-Virus is as up-2-date as it can be. Tho of course as we all know thats no guarantee that the anti-virus has picked anything up!!

Thanks for the reply mate, will investigate and post my findings.

Cheers
