Greetings all,
I understand the basics of DNS and I have been reading up on it to get a better understanding. In doing my reading I started experimenting with NSLOOKUP on mmy Windows 7 PC. I am seeing something odd and I don't know what the issue is.

When I run an nslookup on my domain name, I get the correct resoltion steadmanusa.com

> steadmanusa.com
Server: dns-cac-lb-01.rr.com
Address: 209.18.47.61

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: steadmanusa.com
Address: 184.172.171.99

when I try to run it with I get the following results:

> Server: dns-cac-lb-01.rr.com
Address: 209.18.47.61

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: Addresses: 66.152.109.110
69.16.143.110

I notice that when I add any address I get the same results and I think it is something on my PC but not sure. I don't have any DNS suffix names setup in my connections so I don't konw what the issues is. I do work for Oracle and I am assuming it is getting the us.oracle.com from somewhere on my machine, I just don't know where to look. Below I have shown the results of a nslookup for google.com as well and you can see that I get the same results when I add the www

Non-authoritative answer:

74.125.227.2
74.125.227.3
74.125.227.4

Any assistance would be appreciated

I figured it out. I had a Primary DNS Suffix listed. Once I removed that, I am good to go.
