Hi All;

I recently installed a 450 r6 and with it, all the latest patches.

Programmed fm/fm for a user (which worked fine for the 1st month) and am now having a perplexing problem.

Fm/fm is set-up to ring the users blackberry only... so call the desk phone, and the blackberry rings at the same time.

If you call the user DID... deskphone rings, blackberry rings (no prblm).
If you call the blackberry...rings 6 times goes to v/m (no prblm).

* If another user on the system (ie. reception) answers a call and transfers (f70) the call to fm/fm user... the call goes DIRECTLY to the blackberry voicemail? *
The blackberry is on, sitting on the users desk (not fwd to v/m).
It's not Nortel's Silicone Sally that picks up, it is definately the blackberry v/m.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Has anyone heard of this issue? Or have any thoughts?

Wow ... this is a good one!

Make 100% certain your not reaching the BCM CallPilot by pressing ** or dialing zero when you hit the VM.

Has the user configured any other FMFM numbers or a schedule?
Does the users BCM phone have Call Forward Busy enabled?

The strangest part of this is how does the call go from the receptionist telephone to the BlackBerry voicemail directly bypassing any ring cycles or delay???

I would suggest using BCM Monitor in an attempt to see what number is being outdialed to the BlackBerry.

There are currently no known FMFM issues corrected by beta patches and the last patch released for 6.0 was BCM050.R600.SU.System-003.201101.

Aha! Well done SupportDude!

Sometimes a push in the right direction is all that is required.

I don't use Monitor very much and never thought to check there. I've found the reason for my trouble, but not the solution.

Monitor is saying that fm/fm is calling the blackberry twice!
1st call is 1 second apart from the 2nd call and the users blackberry is f.o.b.

Why is fm/fm calling 2x?

This sounds really similar to an old problem with transfers to Hunt Groups.
The same type of situation would happen during a blind transfer.
Upon the initiation of the transfer the first set in the Hunt Group would begin to ring, then when the transforee pressed release, the first set would stop ringing and the next set would ring ... and of course this all happened within a second or two.
I don't recall there ever was a solution either. As I remember, Nortel put out a bulletin basically stating this is the way it is.

You may want to experiment with the transfer process a little.
See what happens if the receptionist waits for the destination to ring before dropping out of the call.
