Hi Folks,
Hoping someone can shed some light on this for me.
I have recently upgraded my friends machine from 2000 to XP (aswell as increasing the H/Ware specs of the machine). The installation went fine, booted up the first few times nop problem. Then something weird has started happening.
When the machine is turned on, while things are booting up I get a 'BOOT DISK FAILURE, PLEASE INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER' error message appearing. The funny thing is, if I have a bootable cd/dvd in the dvd drive (say win xp) and I dont press a key which would allow the cd/dvd to boot, windows will start perfectly fine.
I have tried changing around the boot order so that it is HDD1 first and nothing else, same error, so that it is CD1 followed by LAN and then HDD1, same error.
I have to admit that I am absolutely stumped by this, I have installed hundreds of operating systems and never once have I seen anything like this.
Any suggestions would be very, very welcome.
Cheers
