Hi,
There is a something weird happening on my network and i cant explain it. Some users are shown to connected to all the shared folders of some other users, while the primary user is unaware of the fact. Is this a kind of virus?
Please to shed light on the same..

bye,
Vivek

Hmmm I cant say that I have heard of a virus doing that. I guess I need a little more information.

1. What type of network (Novell, Microsoft NT ect ect)

2. What OS are the machines running (95, 98, ME, ect ect)

As you can see I'm leaning more towards a networking issue :)

Hi,
This is a simple LAN with machines of varied os's, xp,win98,win2k et al
Sometimes, these other comps just open connection to all the shared folder on one's comp. Cant figure out why?

TIA,
Vivek

The only thing I can think of would be that they have drive mapping set to log onto that folder. You might want to check the machines that are connected to the folder and uncheck "reconnect on logon" from the "map network drive" menu.

Hope this helps
