i have several WS 100 p&g 4's. i haven't been able to telnet them as of yet. ericsson tech-support stated that "admin/superuser" should get me in however this has not worked. these units are new in the box. any help would be appreciated.
i believe i initially saw the reference to telnet in the 'glossy' blurb. i have sold a few of these (p4's) to a buyer in Russia who states that he has gotten into the unit and configed it to work w/ other phones, cisco etc. he wants to work some kind of deal for the info exchange. quite honestly, i haven't put a tremendous amount of effort into the whole project. which includes the P & G 4's as well as a 'touchwave' M4 that id's itself as 1608_ws2000 v1.07. the WS2000 s/w i have is v 3.0.x which is not compatible. the whole project is quite messy and the support out there is VERY minimal, that i've found so far.
I haven't found any support, but then, I don't have any other Ericcson products. We were hoping to use it to extend POTS extensions over IP, and I quickly discovered that I need the 'extension gateway' to do that. I've got a workaround, but I'm having trouble getting the two WS100's to talk to each other outside of our LAN....
what sort problem are you experiencing outside of the LAN ? i have thus far only 'registered' with a gatekeeper in the SF area. it took a bit of effort but finally i got connected. i must say that the quality of the connection was very good. what are you utilizing for the 'workaround' for the POTS extension ? i have recently accessed the WS100 G4 with the above user/password, i'm not certain what it will buy ME. the P4 however will still not accept it.
I'm doing WS100 p4 to P4. I'm trying to connect the two WS100's to each other accross the public internet. It works partially (ringing happens), but I don't get a voice path. (It works fine 'internally'). I connected one P4 to my PBX, and created a 'hotline' on it that when an IP call comes in, it seizes an port on the PBX and dialls the remote access code. So, I don't have 'true' extension dialling, but it will work for the most part.
