Hi,

I have a server edition 11.0.4.4 and I am testing the WebRTC web client.

If I use chrome I get no sound at all on a call not even dial tone.

If I use the thick client installed on my desktop I can hear voicemail and external calls but not internally to Workplace.

Calling deskphones is ok.

The internal test was made to Avaya workplace if that matters.

I haven't done anything to the WebRTC configuration on the server its all default and all the phones are in the office on the same network and subnet.

Am I missing something?

Many thanks in advance!

James

A few things here :

1) Make sure you are using g711 codec for WebRTC.
2) Which version of Chrome are you using? Chrome release 87 and up no longer support TLS 1.0, and some releases of IP Office have not accommodated for this. I can confirm this issue is resolved in R11.1 SP2 and WebRTC is fully compatible with Chrome version 90 in this release of IP Office. If you don't want to upgrade to R11.1 SP2, you can instead use Chrome version 86 or earlier. See below for Avaya's documentation of the problem:

---
IP Office WebRTC clients using Chrome browser version 87 or later and connecting to IP Office
WebRTC Gateway (11.1.x & 11.0.x) will not have media for both audio and video calls.

Products affected
IP Office WebRTC Gateway (11.1.x, 11.0.x), Avaya Communicator for Web, Avaya One-X Web
Client, ACR (Xima), IPOCC Agent, Web Collaboration, IP Office CPE and Powered by deployments
using the listed clients.

Problem description
IP Office WebRTC clients using Chrome browser version 87 or later connecting to IP Office WebRTC
Gateway (11.1.x & 11.0.x) will not have media for both audio and video calls.
This is caused by Chrome browser stopping the support of DTLS 1.0 in release 87 and IP Office
11.1.x and 11.0.x doesn’t support DTLS 1.2

Resolution
Complete details of resolution plan will be shared after detail technical assessment of the issue is
completed.

Workaround or alternative remediation
Customers who have already upgraded Chrome browser to version 87 or later must downgrade to an
earlier version than 87.
