Hi,

I've been asked to setup a couple of user accounts that should only
have webmail access. So they aren't allowed to logon to any
workstation or server.
Then the mails that these accounts receive should be deleted after one
month.

Is this possible and if so, how?

regards,

Jeroen

You can prevent the user accounts from being able to log onto any workstations or servers in Active Directory. Go to the properties of the account and click on the "Account" tab, then the "Log On To" tab. Now check the box that says "The Following Computers" and don't add anything.

I'm not sure how to delete the mail after a month. Hopefully someone else can answer that one for you.

Thanks for the response.

Scottew, I've tried this, but I'm getting 500 error messages as soon as I restrict the logons. Our OWA server is also DC, so maybe this could have something to do with it. I am trying to convince them it is not a good idea to run exchange on a DC, but it was like this when I got here. ;)

xmsre, I'm not looking to disable outlook access for these (or other users), I'm trying to have some users that aren't allowed to login to any workstation, but are only allowed to read email (by use of webmail).

the mailbox policy is a good tip, thanks.

regards,

Jeroen
