Can the ethernet webcams connect directly to a router...or do they have to plug into a NIC directly? Thanks! Example Hawking HNC300.

ethernet cams wouldnt plug into a NIC, they would plug into the DMZ port on your router or be plugged into your switch. you would prolly have to set up Port forwarding to get the video out.
