Hi,

I have a small application running as a web server on my windows 2003 server, but it's running very slow, much slower than in a regular PC with IIS installed.
The server is not running much things.
Is there any way to put this web server as prioritary service or what can I do something to speed this up?

Thanks.

Have you monitord the server's resources. Another way to also rule out nic card or network problems would be to access the website locally.

What do you mean to access the website locally ?

If you are on the server directly, have you tried to see if it is running properly. If it is then you most likely have networking issues;
- Check your DNS settings
- Check your network card on the server to see if it configed correctly

If the application is still running slowly when accessed locally, check Task Manager to see which apps/processes are using all the resources.
How much RAM has the server got ?
You could try making adustments under System Properties, Advanced, Performance, Advanced. You could adjust Processor Scheduling and Memory usage to favour Programs.

My hunch would be background.
IIS runs as a number of services.
