Hope someone can help with this.

We are running an Intranet off a Windows 2000 server box. When some clicks on a link (say a PDF contact details page) it shows up no problem. If this PDF is replaced with an updated version (same file name) then the user doesn't see this new version (only old version) until they clear all of their temporary files and reload their browser.

Is there a way to avoid this at all as people often forget to do this and print off old versions..

Thanks
John

How about a group policy or a batch file to just empty the temp folder(s) at startup, shutdown, or every x amount of hours? Yes, not the best solution but at least it's something to buy you some time....

A better way to do it (if you know how to program) would be to stream the file. Store the file names in a database. A code page would stream the location of the file and the page would have a response.expires =now
