Have you confirmed that you do indeed have an IP address? What are you using to view the web pages (IE, Firefox, or AOL software, etc.)? What error messages, if any are you getting?
I assume the web pages are just timing out and you get the default web page could not be displayed message. You could try pinging a site that will respond to pings to make sure your packets are indeed traveling across the Internet. Other than that I am thinking that you should reset the winsock catalog. This may solve the problem.
-Open a command prompt (Start >Run >cmd)
-at the prompt type netsh and then hit enter
-then type winsock reset
You will probably have to reboot your computer after this.
If you do not get any error, but the page eventually shows up: you may have an invalid DNS server configured, you may wish to check to see if they are hard coded, or automatically given to you via DHCP.
