web hosting CFMX vs 5.0

It depends on the tags you use -- I would check the release notes for the new tags and attributes for CFMX and obviously, not use them. If you check the CFML reference, under ColdFusion tag summary, you will find them. I think for the most part, you should be fine. If you have access to a version 5, what I would recommend is installing that and reinstalling CFMX as a standalone server -- so you can develop using both versions.
If you definately want to use CFMX and your host is not going to upgrade soon, I'd recommend Crystaltech.com . They will be upgrading to CFMX by July 1st (so they tell me). I don't work for them, I just have my webhost with them and I highly recommend them.
