I have seen threads like this before but want to ask it again and see if there are any new options.

If you have ever used Skype that product has a great Skype Toolbar that adds on to Internet Explorer. It looks at every page you are on and turns phone #'s into into Skype links that you can call.

I would love to use Skypes User Interface with Avaya IP Office but it doesn't support TAPI or native IP Office.

Has anyone found products similar to this? My company uses a Web based application that has all of our customer contact info and it would great to dial directly from it.

My boss had an idea how to use Skype - buy a special USB phone that can also connect to a phone line, and connect it as an extension on the IPO. This way you can receive calls on the IPO, but I don't know how to implement dialing out you have to dial with Skype and then transfer the call to another extension. Could work with some TAPI programming.

Skype can be linked through a Skype gateway. Can be found at

Better way is to link VoIPbuster to the system. Can be linked through this box Tiptel VoIP 40. Have a look at this URL

(sorry it is in Dutch). Box is only $ 250,- local price for max 12 SIP accounts ans 1 ISDN-2 to the PABX. Needs a BRI card in the system, but works out of the box.

VoIPbuster is SIP compliant and can therefore use the new SIP trunk licence under software version 4.0, no additional hardware needed.

In all cases you can receive and put out calls through your standard phone connected with the IP-Officew system.
