Back in the old days (mid 90s) a web site connection to a database would time out after 20 minutes...or so my feeble memory seems to recall. I am now told that this is no longer the case. I'm confused. Was the 20 minute time out a figment of my fevered imagination or did it exist? And if so, what was the fix that finally put it out of the picture? Thanks for anyone with patience to educate an old and feeble IT guy.

The connection timeout, can be set in the IIS manager. Right click on the website and go to properties. On the "website" tab, you will see where it's set.

Just my $.02.

Sorry, the DB connection is set in the DB properties. I use SQL Server 2000 and it can be set about the same way from the SQL Manager.

Thanks. That's good info. If you don't mind helping me to come fully out of my coma, where did I get the 20 minutes figure. Is that the default time out setting?
