I have web cleint 4.5 and i scheduled a report to print, when I checked why it didn't print under schedule it says report not activated? When I try and activate it I get an error saying can not activate report? Any suggestions?

Any help on this? I am still working on trying to "activate" a report but can't. The printers are added to the Symposium web server and I can even print test pages, but when I try and schedule a report then click on activate it tell me I can't?

i am on SCCS 4.0. I had a problem with running my log in log out report and i get this error message: error no such type.

I was told it was i needed the lastest Symposium Client patches. Now after the patches, user still unable to open report. When report is open - error

nicrptom.exe has generated errorand will be closed by windows. You will need to restart your program.

An error logged is being created

What is causing this and what can i do to reslove this error and be able to run the report.

hi plshlp123,

u need to configure the anonymous user in IIS to IUSR_SWC.

Here is the procedure:
Go to Control Panel ---> Administrative Tools ---> IIS --->Websites ---> Default Websites [right click properties] ---> Click Directory Security TAB ---> Click Edit [Authentication & access control] ---> Check Anonyomous Access. Here you need to give the user name: server\IUSR_SWC & password

Reboot the server. You should be able to schedule the report.

Thanks, I just went there and everything you have here is already on the Server? Any other suggestions?

I have to check but my vendor just downloaded yesterday two patches (that apparently were just created) to my web server. That didn't work, does the web server "have" to be on the domain? I vaguely remember if you set up a WIN 2003 Server you didn't have to set it up as it's own domain, but I don't know about placing it on the domain.

The Web Client doesn't have to be on the domain. However, if all the printer are in the domain, then you have to put the webclient server onto the domain otherwise you will not have the right to print as the server is not a member of the domain.

Yes, in win2k3 you don't have to set the server as domain controller because it has adam (active directory application mode) feature. However, this does not stop you if you want to put the webclient onto an existing domain.

hope this helps.

Check and see what Group the IUSR_SWC account belongs too. Try to add it to the Administrator Group and see if the report will run. I have had this problem before, I will have to check my notes and get back with you. I think that it was a local policy that was changed.

You also need to go into Services on your Web Client Server and make sure that Task Scheduler is running. We had that same problem here and starting Task Scheduler fixed it.

I had a similar error message a few months back. Don't know if our fix will end up being your fix, but here are my notes to the call center skillset supervisor:

The vendor isn’t a lot of help here. It’s one of those “hey there was a problem, but now it’s all OK...what happened?” deals that is very difficult to solve. You and I are observing that it all seems to be working OK now. I’ve been testing this for a couple of days now with different login IDs, and here is what I’ve found:

I think the main part of this hinges on “who created the report.” The crummy thing is the report doesn’t tell you who created it. If you did not create the report, you can: activate/deactivate it, and you can “save as” under Report Details, then on the gray bar click on Report...Save. You can update selection criteria and then run the report, but the changes won’t stay unless you save the report as your own using the method above. If you did not create the report, you won’t see it in the Scheduled Events window, even if you Activate/Deactivate it. If you did not create the report you cannot overwrite it (the Save Report button on the bottom). If you did create the report, you pretty much have full control, including being able to see it in Scheduled Events.

I was intermittently able to recreate the “unable to active...job has already actived” and “unable to deactive...” error messages several times on newly created reports. Each time I was able to solve them by either changing status in the Scheduled Events or modifying the schedule directly and overwriting. These solutions didn’t seem to work on Tuesday, but I wonder if it was because we were both working on a report Eva had originally created.

The vendor is trying to get in and make sure we have the latest service updates, patches, etc. However, my guess is now that you are sure (if in fact you are) that all the reports under "Skillset 3" Group were created by you, we won’t have too many problems anymore. Please let me know if this happens again.
