Web Address Desktop Shortcut ICONS 1

HI all

Just wondering how I can change a icon for a shortcut on my desktop that points direct to a website address, when I click on Propertires there is no option to change the icon.

I have set it up by going Creat new shortcut, enter the full web address and OK

Or is there a better way to do this as I need to have a customised icon on the shortcut link

Are you sure there's no "change icon" type button?
For me:
Right-Click -> Properties -> Shortcut tab -> Change Icon.

Definetly no Change Icon

General and Security are the only 2 tabs that display

I have created a shortcut on the desktop but there is no shortcut arrow on the left hand corner

Clicked right button on the desktop, new, create shortcut

Entered in the web address and OK

Are you an Administrator?

Is it an Internet Shortcut? There should be 3 tabs across the top of the Properties page - General, Web Document, and Security.

The Change Icon "Button" should be half way down the page.

Yes I am administrator

There is only 2 tabs General and Security

NoChange Icon button at all

What icon is it giving you for the link, is it an Internet Explorer icon?

Have you been investing in TweakUI in the past or other Registry "improvements"?

Run the System File Checker program from the Run Box by typing.....Sfc /Scannow in it and have your XP CD handy.

that is a file on your desktop, not a short cut..try creating a short cut by,
lautch ie and go to the site you want to save,select file,send, then select shortcut to desktop.. now you can change your icon..

please forgive my spelling..
