We are currently looking for a call center solution that will work will our Avaya Aura platform (6.2) session manager (7)which will support soft phones for people working from home. We have a 16 call centers but relatively easy set up and not a huge call volume compared to the corporate world.
We have looked in the 5 9's which was a great product but way to much money. Any ideas?
Thanks

Avaya one-x agent or communicator

I have looked at VPN tunnel but I don't believe our current phones will support. We still have mostly digital phones and we would also have to buy a vpn router for about 30 users. It may be the way to go.
I have 1x communicator working but I am looking for a solution that will support many platforms other then a windows solution.

but will they be working from home with a company laptop that is on VPN? If so, one-x agent is the simplest call center soft client.

We have a VDI environment which most user's use from home also a VDN tunnel but we have had issues with soft clients calling other soft clients internally. I beleive the problem is one end can't here the other.
Any way I know we looked at 1x agent but the higher ups did not like, I will have to find out whey?

If licensed then activate ec500 for your call center agents but 0ne-x agent is the way to go

Not sure EC500 is the way to go for call centers but I really appreciate your input. I am going to revisit one x-agent.

I also beleive one x-agent only works with windows.

You can run one-x agent in VDI and have calls route to cell phones as the "other phone" setting in one-x.
