Hi I had a server 2003 R2 SP2 machine on one subnet and installed WDS. Its works fine. However I am shipping this server across the pond, and it will be on a differnet IP address when it gets there. When changing the ip address of the server here, (created a transparent vlan matching the other one) after changing the address, the WDS service no longer starts. Even if i use add remove windows programs to remove it, and reinstall it it still doesnt work. However if i change it back to its original ip address WDS starts up fine. When googling this error people are just talking about client ip addresses dhcp etc. I am only concerened with the server's address.

Oh and I have tried starting the service with a domain admin account. Also reinitializing server to defaults using wdsutil doesnt seem to work either. Maybe I need to remove some stuck cheese from the registry? I need to no know that the server can survice and address change -

ok sovled. firewall was not letting wds tell active directory about its ip address change, and not letting it start.
