WD 1Tb Data Recovery hopefully

Have a WD green 1Tb that failed, refused to spin up. I changed the
HD Controller with another equal drive and it spins up.When attached as sata drive, computer won't boot says can't find boot drive.
When attached as USB it doesn't mount but tools can see it.
Testdisk shows it as wrong size 2tb instead of 1tb.
WinDlg shows capacity 0, SMART status unavailable.
Attached is TestDisk report.
Will R-Studio be able to make an image with this disk connected as USB?

What happens when you try to copy the data?

Can't see file system.IE can't copy anything as a copy. Question is whether to try to image the drive or if this could cause further damage.

I would mount it where you can use it and back up everything before trying anything with the problem device/attachment.

What does "image the drive" mean for this situation? Just want to make sure we're all on the same page<g>.

A bit for bit copy of the data on the bad disk in order to be able to work calmly on the data on a new drive before the bad drive fails completely.

Assuming your copy software to do the imaging does NOT use any type of destructive read, you copy attempt should not cause any damage to the existing data.

How much data is there to be saved?

Might it be worth taking the drive to someone who does this as for-fee service?

Same place might he able to doagnose why you have the original problem also.
