Ways to Shutdown Windows 7

There was a brief discussion at work this week on the alternative ways to shutdown Windows 7. If anyone knows of a definitive list I would appreciate it if they posted a link.

Academic interest only - so please don't spend any time looking!

tap the power button (depends on your setting)

type shutdown <enter> in a command prompt

Hold the power button for ten seconds.

pull the plug out (that one only fails when it is a laptop)

could work for W7 as well...

one could also use a shortcut to shutdown Windows 7, basically skipping the step to open a CMD window (or using the runbox)...

another would be the use of the Taskscheduler (or the BIOS timer) to shutdown at a certain time...

also there are widgets (gadgets) that have on/off buttons, that shutdown Win7... ;-)

also the shut down command works over a network too - assuming you have Administrative rights over the pc you are shutting down.

Alt-F4 when on the desktop to get the most options e.g. shut down and install updates or shutdown without installing updates.
