Is there a way to reset phones remotely that will boot them as if they had been unplugged?
We need remote phones to pickup a new VLAN and IP Address from DHCP, I'm not sure if busy/release accomplishes this.

(This will be in cases where the network is unable to power off the switch ports).

Also, is there a remote way to CLEAR a phone? Some of these sets have hard coded VLAN and IP Addresses.

Thank you,

reset ip-phones" should do the trick
Remote CLEAR? None that I am aware of.

Hi, Thanks for the response, that's a great idea. It would be ideal if reset ip-phones could be defined to a network region or media gateway. Would be traumatic for us to reset all the phones on the network. :)

Thanks again,

it can

you can do it by region or IP range - start: 192.168.1.0 end: 192.168.1.100

If they are on the same segment of your network. Have the network guys shut down POE on that segment then turn it back on. Then as long as the phones dont have there own PPE brick they will power off and then log back on.

YOu can use the Utility web page if it can be reached remotely(VPN) and/or Network guys reboot the ports. Also use the 46xxsettings file set the clear command, this way once the phones reboot they will pull the file get the reboot command. Make sure you remove clear so the phones just dont keep re-clearing

Thanks for all the suggestions!
When I see the reset ip-stations command, press F5 and it says "Entry is not required"
I took that to mean there were no other options.
Would be ideal if we could reset ip-stations region x

I would hate to test this and be wrong, my head would end up on a spike!

46xxsettings clear would be nice too, but yes modify, restart then remove that clear command...

Thanks,

@PhonesAllDay. reset ip-stations Then F3. It will take you to another page where you can enter the IP network region or subnet.

@AvAyATEKky. Are you saying that you can insert a clear command in the 46xxsettings.txt file and when a phone hits it, it will clear? Not really following but you post sounds interesting.

yes you can insert clear in the text file, you just have to remove as every time the phone grabs the file it clears making a constant loop

@avAyATEKky. What is the 46xxsettings.txt parameter that you believe will cause a clear?
