I need some insight as to configuring the X500. I have a single server running Windows Server 2003 w/ Exchange 2003. I have 2 network adapters Internal and External. My Router is a Cayman 3546 ADSL. I have an IP map within the router pointing the public IP to the private IP of my external network adapter of 192.168.1.253. My internal adapter is set to a 10.10.10.x range. Everything works perfectly and has for some time and I haven't installed the X500 as of yet. Do I need to make any changes to the Cayman router configuration since I will be using a routed configuration with the X500? Would I be able to map an IP to the X500 such as I have with the Cayman? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is no specific changes you need to make on Cayman. You give 192.168.1.253 on external of the fb x 500 and trusted be the 10.10.10.x range. Let the exchange server have only one NIC on trusted interface with 10.10.10.x range ip and you should be good to go.

One good suggestion is that if you also want the FB to work as VPN device have your ISp terminate the PUBLIC ip on the fb instead of the cayman.

Let me know in case you have any other question.....

Thanks for the reply. I was reading the docs that came with the 500. Should I turn off NAT on the Cayman and use the NAT functions on the 500?

Yes let the firebox do the trick for NAT and cayman be the only ISP device forwarding the public ip to the firebox so the external of the firebox will have the public ip and trusted will be 10.10.10.x.
