Warp tool

I am using the warp: flag filter in Illustrator and I have the effect that I want but I want to rotate the object and when I do it continues the warp effect and distorts the image. Is there something that I need to do to stop it from doing this?

Any help would be great

After you do your effect, with the object you've warped selected go under

Object>Expand Appearance

That will make your warp final, then you can rotate it without it updating the filter on you.
