Warm Boot to ITG

Hi all,

What is the proper way to perform a warm boot on an ITG card. Firmware 3.0.

fromthe same load you stat the card try disl x .. that is a soft down enll works for bringing it back up

Just a simple disl command should do the trick? I was under the impression that I needed to plug directly to the card with an RS-232 cable and do a CardSet.

Can I not just disc and enlc?

The reason why I need to perform this warm boot, is because I changed the TLAN properties.

yes , unless you want to plug in to the card to change properties their, i didn't think you needed to connect back up after the install. i know to get into config from the local term on the card i do a hard reset, then it will prompt you with a control ? (I) to boot into config.. i have used that to change default gateway on the card itself, so that it can see the far end

ITG>cardReset
..this is same as pressing the Reset button on the ITG card faceplate.

Is pressing the reset on the button of my ITG card safe? will I lose my card configurations or does it just reboot the card? To I need to disable the card before I do this?

Do you recommend this option or disl and enll?

i could say it is safe, i have multiple site with itg's on it and so far all is working perfectly. though i am not sure if nortel recommends this actions.

also, pressing the reset button is necesary when you change configuration on the itg. with that it also answer you second question.

you may or may not disable the card.

I have problems with the elan gateway not working on ITG cards. How is this fixed
