Hi everyone!
I have 3 PC's and an Ibook all running on a cable network - I have an office right next to my house, the 3 PC's are in the office, the ibook is in my house. I have a hub (I think that's what it's called) in my house that runs the ethernet cable to my ibook. I want to install an airport card in my ibook and get a linksys wireless router so I won't be confined to the ethernet cable in the house - has anyone done this? Does anyone see any problems I may run into with this type of set up? How hard is it to install an airport card myself??
Thanks!

Nope, should work like a charm. The airport card will speak to the Linksys router quite nicely. (
Installing the airport card isn't much of a problem. You pop out the keyboard - couple of latches at the top of the keyboard and you'll see the slot for the airport card.

Here's a link for this - and for an older iBook -
Hope this helps;

Okay,
I've got more questions! I bought the airport card, for my ibook, Instead of a Linsys Router, I ended up getting a netgear Router (Wireless), I didn't set up my original network, so I really don't have much knowledge about networking computers, anyway - should I load the netgear software on the ibook, or on one of the computers in my office (I've explained how everything is hooked up in my first post)- I've been told I should turn off the DHCP on the wireless router, is that in the software setup??
Any STEP BY STEP instructions would sure be VERY MUCH appreciated!

Thanks
