I recently started a new job and our department's main server is running FreeBSD, PHP and Apache. Last time I used any of this stuff was ~4-5 years ago in College.

I'm after good books which have a good base of information on these topics (mainly FreeBSD/Unix), but also books that will allow me to grow with them so once I get the basics down I will still find them usefull and full of information.

So far I've found The Complete FreeBSD, Fourth Edition -- comments on this?

thanks
Stu

The Complete FreeBSD" is printed and bound version the handbook that is referenced by SamYan.

This is the best information available for FreeBSD, although you will find many other books available like "Absolute FreeBSD," etc. However, the aforementioned title would be the most authoritative source.

If you want to learn the internals of 4.4BSD, then I would recommend "The Design and Implementation of the FreeBSD Operating System."

Oh yes there are some great tips and tricks in the 100 industrial stregnth BSD hacks book too.
