want Word Text Form Field to ask Question Like Fillin

I am creating a letter that will ask information once and enter the info in several other places on the letter. Someone suggested to use a text form field to collect the info and use a REF to retrieve it. This works great. However, I want a popup box to ask the user to put the info in. I still want to use the text form fields.

Does anyone know of how to do this? If I write code, how and where do I put it?

Try an Ask field

If memory serves me well this will activate on print but it may be worth checking the help

OK, I have tried this several different times. It kind of works.

When I go to protect the document, a box pops up promting me for my input. But, after I save the document and try to use it as a template, the pop up boxes don't appear.

Im I doing something wrong?
