i installed windows xp pro on my hd but i like the home version better so how do i remove the professional one off my my hd. thank you

And reinstall Home? Or did you create a dual boot?
To reinstall Home & wipe Pro, just boot from install CD - when it gets to bit where you choose where to install, delete the existing partition and create a new one - continue installing.
This will wipe the drive - so back up anything you want to keep beforehand.

when i installed the hd it didnt give me the option of partioning so i have 200 gh an no partions

Then you will need to reinstall home from the CD. What didn't you like about Pro?

my husband are novice computer users 1 day he went to the thrift store found an copy of win xp pro there for 10 bucks installed it an went to update it an said it couldnt that the key was not valid. so cant do the service packs
