I have a small network set up in a motel which allows guests DSL internet access. In order to get guest PC's to match our IP numbers, we have guests set their PC's to "obtain an IP address automatically", from our NT DHCP server. Is there a way to automatically override and replace an IP address so the guest does nothing?

Having your guest change to "Obtain and IP address Automatically" is the only way I am aware of. Im sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks for the response. I heard somewhere that Spoofing could be invoked without the guests' knowledge and give him a temporary IP address. Could this be true? If so, how would I do it? Thanks.

Well considering that spoofing could pose security issues as well as problems I wouldn't recommend it. Also only computers that have full berkeley socket support would allow user controlled ip spoofing. Normally only the system has access to the raw sockets, however in Windows 2000/XP and *nix users can be granted direct raw socket access. John D. Saucier

I'm convinced. Spoofing is out and set to DHCP is in.

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!
