I think SUB Report but then I thought maybe I shouldn't have. You please, tell me.

PUB QTY FuturePlan

AA_1 12 100
AA_2 1 100
BB_1 0 10
BB_2 5 10

So on my Report I trim PUB to a 2 first letters and group.

AA 13 200
BB 5 20

When in fact it should be

AA 13 100
BB 5 10

Is there way to take care of this without SUB? Inserted as only column it doesn't make me feel secure.

Thanks

I am using Windows XP, Crystal Reports 9.0 with SQL Server

Create a Running Total and chose the option to evaluate only once per group level 1.

- Ido

Visual CUT & DataLink Viewer:
view, e-mail, export, burst, distribute, and schedule Crystal Reports.

It would work but I just found few records that are

PUB QTY FuturePlan

AA_1 12 100
AA_1 10 100

AA_2 1 250
AA_2 2 250

BB_1 0 10
BB_2 5 10

So output should be:
AA 25 350
BB 5 10

I am trying but I could use help. Thanks

Group on full PUB code at level 2.

Create a Running Total that resets at level 1 and increments only once per each level-2 group.

- Ido

Visual CUT & DataLink Viewer:
view, e-mail, export, burst, distribute, and schedule Crystal Reports.

When you mentioning level - I am lost, I understand it is THE way but where levels are?

OK, more trouble...

There is

PUB QTY FuturePlan

AA_1 12 100
AA_1 10 100
AA_1 0 100

AA_2 1 250
AA_2 2 250

BB_1 0 10
BB_2 5 10

and output should still be

So output should be:
AA 25 350
BB 5 10

I don't see the problem.

At level 1, group on a formula that returns just the 1st 2 characters.

At level 2, group on the full code. Use a Running Total as described above (and place it in Group Footer Level 1

Visual CUT & DataLink Viewer:
view, e-mail, export, burst, distribute, and schedule Crystal Reports.

AWESOME! Thanks

Have I asked this in a wrong way?
I want only those displayed values to get SUMmed not all the dups. Can I do this?

PUB QTY FuturePlan

AA_1 12 100
AA_1 10 100
AA_1 0 100

AA_2 1 250
AA_2 2 250

BB_1 0 10
BB_2 5 10

SUM 360 not 820

Thanks

You can just right click and insert a sum on {table.qty}, but for "FuturePlan", you need to insert a running total for the grand total where you choose sum of {table.futureplan}, evaluate on change of field: {table.PUB}, reset never.

Thanks as always!
