We currently have a Terminal server at our main site. Our second site has 5 workstations and three printers. The workstations are connected via windows workgroup & log into the term server via citrix. The printers are setup via tcp/ip on the Terminal server. The problem we are experiancing is that anything over 10 pages shows an error & re-spools. However, on occasion we can print just fine regardless of size. The workstations do not have any issue printing when not connected to the terminal server. Any ideas?

The problem you are experiencing may be one of two things. <br>
<br>
Free drive space on the terminal server... The printer sends the job to the print spooler which is actually a spool sub-directory on the hard drive of the server. If you are short on disk space, the spooler may need to be moved to another drive. <br>
<br>
Additionally, it may also be a low memory condition on the terminal server. If all users are connected and processing data, then a big print job comes in to the printer, it may be choking on it.<br>

I am assuming that you are not receiving errors with regards to the WAN links or bad packets.. timeout errors on the connection... etc...<br>

On our Server we have over 2 gig free space & We have a Gig of Ram installed. I am not sure how well the Ram is being utilized though. Nor am I sure that the rights are not limiting the users. So, I will look at this. One thing I learned today from one of the users is that if you leave the job alone it will eventually print correctly. I think this means there is a poor connection/communication with the HP print servers not reporting their status to the terminal server properly? I am pretty frustrated with this one. Everytime we think we have narrowed the possiblities of the cause something else steers us in a different direction.

Sorry about that I get so caught up in the problem I forget my manners. Thank you very much BruceP this gives us a valid avenue of approach to solving this issue that actually makes sense.

Just to let you know there is a full forum dedicated to Citrix. There are a lot of people who are having problems with printing. You may find some info in there. <br>
BruceP does have some good points though. What is the configuration of the Term Serrv? IE processor(s),HD's, RAM, applications being used and how many users are we talking about that are connected at one time? That could also be a factor especially since you say that if the users leave it alone it will eventually print fine. <p> <br><a href=mailto: oneworld@goes.com> oneworld@goes.com</a><br><a href= > </a><br>

Our Terminal Server is a Compaq Proliant 1600 w/2 450 proc. 2 6 gig drives w/ 1 gig RAM. We currently have 10 Remote clients of which 5 are probably concurrently logged in. Thanks for the information. I will look at the Citrix forum also. You have all been very helpful.
