Waiting for line beep during switch to backup SIP trunk 4

Hopefully I'm not missing the obvious but anyone know how to disable the waiting for line beep or make an ARS failover happen instantly? I have IP Office (Powered By) 11.0.0.1 with SIP lines. Certain numbers are not routable by the main SIP provider so there is a backup ARS that points calls to a secondary provider--however the customer has to hear a very loud beeping in their ear for a few seconds before those calls go through. Thanks for the help!

Add the overflow route in ARS, then change the Alt route wait time to off.

Thanks, tried that but doesn't appear to be using the wait time (since phone priority is over 3). Still gets beep. Would love to have a way to just disable it!

Wondering if it's because it does not see the 1st truck as out of service.

What do you mean certain numbers are not rout-able by the primary SIP provider, if this is the case make entries in ARS for those numbers that are not routing and route them through the 2nd sip trunk provider. Hopefully there are not a lot of them.

The trunk isn't out of service. The provider will not route certain numbers they deem to be outside of our rate plan. We get this with all our providers so we route between various. No trouble with failover, just takes a few seconds while the system beeps at you

You are right though that I can add the known trouble numbers into the ARS to go straight to backup. Any future numbers that come up will still beep but that isn't a huge deal. For now I've just routed to what is essentially a proxy service that will route to various carriers

So this isn't an issue for us anymore but if anyone knows how to mod the file for the beep sound on waiting for line, let me know. Is it just an audio file on the server (I could switch it out with ringback)? Or maybe the phone itself plays something (seems less likely).

Using Manager's Embedded File Management I connected with the server then downloaded the Tones/ENU (for U.S.) ringback file and changed the name to waitingForLine.wav
Then I deleted the file of that name in the Tones/DTMF folder and uploaded the new file. Worked great--Says waiting for line on the screen (not an issue at this point for us) and gives nice ringback until the call connects to backup lines.

One note, I've found I have to reload the new waitingForLine file after each patch or upgrade of a system.
