I have an older "Small Office Edition" unit and Avaya 5410 phones. I've acquired this phone system and after connecting only one phone I get the "waiting for line" in the window of the phone. I have only one analog phone line connected to the analog in on the front of the unit at this time.

Is there something I can try to solve this problem?

If you buy used equipment then first make sure it works, second get the software with it to get it programmed and third use google to learn all about it.
Somewhere along the way you forgot one step, you cannot buy electronics second hand, plug in the power and as by magic it works.
Said that there can be dozens of reasons for it no to work as expected, without any details it is nearly impossible to provide a answer.

The system thinks you have more than the 1 line connected. You need to log into it and set the unused lines out of service

Ok, thanks for that. I'll try it...

Oh, I have Office Manager loaded on my PC and it's connected to the unit. How do I disable or set the other lines out of service?

Have an explore, it will be good for you anyway as you need to learn the system and all the various settings. If you can't find the line setting by just a few minutes of clicking then press F1 and search the help.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

That did it, it's now working. Thank you Touchtone!!!!

And yes, it was good learning more about the unit, thanks also for sharing that sizbut....woo whooo..[smile]
