This wouldn't be aproblem if the pen worked like a mouse, but is doesn't. On of the features of a Wacom Tablet is pressure sensitivity. In PSE (Photo Shop Elements) the bruh tools change according to how hard you press.

In Gimp I can select a tool using my Optical Mouse and as soon as The pen comes into range of the wacom tablet the tool changes to box select. I can't use any other tool, let alone the pressure sensitivity. The same thing happens when I use the wacom mouse.

Now PSE is great, but it's just not the same as The GIMP, could anybody please help me?

Thanks in advance

Very easy fix. The pen goes to whichever tool you select with it. If you switch to mouse and then go back to pen, it will revert back to your pen tool. Just change the tool you're using the with the pen and bam :)

Well thank you! That worked almost great, it's is a little stubborn ti choose what I select, and I like the presure sensetivity on PSE better, but thanks!

Hello, I just bought an old wacom Digitizer II model UD-0608-A, and I can't plug it into my computer, it is like a s-video cable. At the beginning I tought it was te regular mouse cable. Could anybody could tell me what to do with that. Thank you very much for your support.

Hello Magician,

I have the same problem. The plug on the Wacom tablet seems to be intended for a Mac.
So I'm looking now for an adapter plug or cable.
Maybe it's possible to take a solder iron and fix a PS2 plug to the cable; I'm already searching for the pin-layout.
