Arcserve 6.61 Build 834

Get an 'W3301 unable to find directory [Location] EC = Access Denied' error on files and directories. Checked the permissions, all OK and the data hasn't being removed? Other data on the server backs up fine.

Anyone come across this error before and if so how did you overcome it?

Regards

Boothy

On what directories and file do you get this error message on?Does this happen on the local machien or on remote machines.if remote do you use the client agent to do the backup.

These sort of errors occur when a backup job is created with the explicit directories selected instead of the volumes/shares selected.

Can I take it that you have deleted the files/directories that you are getting these errors on? If so, recreate your backup job, but this time instead of drilling down into the volume/share and selecting the individual directories to backup, select the whole volume/share to backup. This way, any directory changes will be oblivious to the backup job as it is just backing up the whole volume/share rather than individually selected directories.

Hope this helps. -----------------------------------------------------
