I am trying to vpn into my windows 2000 network running in mixed mode from a windows 2000 pro w/s. I establish the connection fine and get a address from my dhcp server and I can ping all my internal servers. When I try to connect to a resource such as my file server I am required to provide a user name and password. Is this normal I thought I have already authenticated. The win2k w/s is not a member of my domain it is a member of a workgroup. When I input my user name I must enter it as follows "domain_name\user_id then password". Any thoughts would be greatly appretiated.
