W2k server won't display left side of folders in windows explorer

I have a server running service pack 4 and when you open windows explorer the left side is grayed out. I have fiddled around with it but can not get it to work. If you change the view/explorer bar to search or any other option it works, only the folders option doesn't work. Is there a fix or a patch. I have searched Microsoft's website and have not really found anything. Does any one know a fix or work around. The client wants me to reinstall the server from scratch for this one issue!

I'm having the same problem as described in this question only it happened after upgrading my workstation to SP4. I've looked everywhere and this is the first reference I've found to this issue. Does anyone have the solution?

I had the same problem... it was a virus. Check that out with your antivirus.

I believe I fixed that problem by reinstalling IE 6.0.
