hi,
Every time I re-boot my comp, my drive sharing is auto-set back to C$, or D$, etc. If I manually unshare the drive, it lasts 'til I re-boot. It doesn't seem to matter which local user "owns" the drive, I'm running W2K SP2, direct cable connection, zonealarm.

Not sure if this will help or not but the same thing happened to me I did it like over and over 3 times then all of a sudden it stopped. Did you change the drive share names then click apply or are you using the default. Also I had to scroll down to choose the one I typed because if u just click apply it seems to keep the c$, default ones. Hope that helps? Worth a shot at least

Currently the default drive names are being used, but I'm looking to un-share the drive, not change the share name. Why will it not let me un-share them?

Hmm you are set up as the admin right? Or when you log in you are logged in as admin right?
If yes I'm not sure........... may sound crazy but try renaming the shared one to something different and see if that takes and then try and disable it.
