Hi there. I have two servers running W2K Advanced Server on which I have implimented network load balancing and Terminal Services. Everything worked fine on my test network. When I moved these servers onto the live network the issues began. First I had to add a static entry in the ARP table for the virtual MAC address on the CISCO 2600 router (which we are using absicaly as a bridge), then I did the same for the OpenBSD Router/Firewall.
My problem is that the system does not work very well. The server that I have designated as my primary in my NLB cluster is accepting almost all the requests for a terminal services session, and my secondary barely accepts any incoming requests at all.
I have Filtering Mode set to "No affinity", and "Load Weight" set to Equal on both servers.
I believe the problem is somewhere in the OpenBSD Router/Firewall. Does anyone know if I need anything other than a static route in the ARP table? Do I need a pseudo-device statement for the virtual MAC address of the NLB servers?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
