some of my W2K machines Profesional and Server will not join an NT4 domain. The system trying to join displays the following message "remote procedure control failed". The RPC service is running on both the server and the worstation trying to join. The NT4 PDC sees the machines trying to join, creates the account in the server manager but it puts it in a workgroup rather than in the domain, and yes I am making sure that the radio button for DOMAIN is checked rather that the one for WORKGROUP. Any Ideas???? Giancarlo Rodriguez

What happens when you manually create a computer account in server manager?

When the computer account is manually created the same thing happends, it will recognize and properly identify the system requesting to join but I get the same results. Giancarlo Rodriguez

You say "some" of your W2K machines. Can you identify ANY differences between these and the ones that have been successful? Service Packs, subnets, images, etc....

All machines are the same, at first I thought that since they were ghosted there was an issue wwith the SID's, but after doing clear installs on all machines I am running into the same issues. Giancarlo Rodriguez
