Hi,
I'm trying to install w2k on a Compaq Proliant 530 with SmartArray 5300 configured as Raid5. On booting the box, the scsi devices are not detected according to the message. The W2K install goes fine, the 'Symbios Logic C8100 PCI SCSI' are loaded, until such time a hard drive is required. The install aborts.
I've had this problem once before on a workstation under NT and despite drivers & instructions from LSI it was no go.
Any ideas?

Paul

When Windows is inspecting computer hardware hit F6 and then manually add the latest driver for the smart array 5300 (Version 5.40.2.0) from a disk.
