My laptop (Windows 2000 Professional) will NOT boot in normal mode but will boot in safe mode. I have removed ALL programs I can think of except for removing Microsoft Office.

It gets as far as the pop up screen that Windows is Starting up but never proceeds past that point. It has been doing this from time to time but now it has got to where it does it almost everytime it boots....

Is there anyone who has any suggestions?

ALL suggestions would be appreciated. I use this computer to install DSL for customers and I'm pretty much paralyzed at this time...

I just use it for testing the bridged connections....

I removed KB835732 and the computer boots fine. I found another thread referencing this problem. It said 1 out of 200 computers are having trouble with the Windows 2000....

I have a similar problem. At first, I ran a virus removal tool (Stinger). Found several, so I hoped this was the problem but still won't boot past user credentials.

Removed KB835732 as per this and other threads, now the laptop fully boots every other time! Very Frustrating!?!?!

It sounds as if your computer was acting differently from mine. Mine didn't even make it to the log-in screen. After elminating the update mentioned above, the problem was elminated....
