Anyone got any ideas on this :
I look after a small/medium sized networks running Windows NT and Windows 98 computers with a Windows NT Server.

I am planning to upgrade the network to Windows 2000 including Active Directory.

The problem is this: I want to keep the workgroup structure (for the benefit of the users) but, at the same time, have them log in to the domain.

Cheers

Not quite sure what you mean by "keep the workgroup structure (for the benefit of the users)". What benefits are you trying to keep? There aren't a whole lot once you get past 10 users. Active Directory provides more benefits that does workgroup configuration. Vince Grice

Daniel,

You can't have it both ways...In order to log into the Domain, you must first join the Domain. In order to join the Domain, you must leave the Workgroup. :)

Hope this helps,
