Not sure is this is strictly quark or w2k....
On upgrading from 4.1 to 6.0 admin rights are needed to install the upgrade. Quark then runs fine with admin rights still in place. Once the rights are taken away the error
""the activation file for this copy of QuarkXpress has been corrupted. Reinstall this version of QuarkXpress."

If the admin rights are then re-added it works fine again. Admin rights cannot be given to all users, any ideas what I can try? thanks.

This does the trick!
1. Install Quarkexpress 6 onto the machine under a user account that has local Administrator rights. Make sure during the installation that the option "install for all users on this machine" is chosen.

2. Log on as the user.

3. Give the user Local Administrator Rights.

4. Log user off and then back on.

5. Right click on the START button and explore to c:\documents and settings\all users\application data\. Right click on the QUARK folder and click Properties.

6. Choose the SECURITY tab.

7. Click on ADD. Type in EVERYONE and then click CHECK NAMES. Click on OK.

8. Highlight EVERYONE and then tick FULL CONTROL.

9. Untick "Allow inheritable permissions from parent to propagate to this object"

10. Choose COPY when prompted to COPY/REMOVE or CANCEL.

11. Click APPLY and then OK.

12. Close explorer and then remove the user out of the admin group.

13. Log user off and then back on.

14. Launch Quarkexpress 6 and it should all now work ok.
