Miker is correct about connecting to the console port. You do not need to reset the whole system. You can then go in and set the line vty password.<br>

It must be there to log in remotely. Check your running config and start config. Under some circumstances, the running config will be the default blank config when you log in thru the console port. Simply copy the start config to running and edit if that is the case. Be sure to copy your running config back to the start config after you edit the running config.<br>
