VSU2 2

A VSU2 un-compressed can hold 3.5 minutes of TOTAL voice messages , but is there a limit on how long each message can be?

I can't find anything in Alex contrary but I would a "total" of 3.5 minutes, also being the limit

There is a limit of either 1 or 2 minutes, I can't remember which. I could not find it documented but found out the hard way.

I believe that it can be changed with a SACOS but again I don't know what it is.

I think it means that record is stopped if summary time of all messages reaches 3.5 minutes.

1 message CAN be the total 3.5 minutes.
The total recording capacity is limited to 3.5 min.
It is up to you how to use this time for your messages.

Hi' what is your bc version ?

I have several BC versions, but I don't think this item depends on BC version.

I can run BC10, BC11 and BC12 in almost any service pack.
Currently running BC12sp2 and BC12sp5.

Hi' the maximum VSU messagelength is 60 sec.

I read that too (Dynatext/Alex) and then tried it all out.
I did not encounter this 60 sec limit.

Hi' with this patch you can change the VSU messagelength:

PCCOS:UNIT=RA1R,CI=S85394A;
Y;

Where DATA=00&F0 is 120 sec. or insert another value.

Is this patch valid for BC 12.1 (BC12.sp4)?

I have BC12.1 (bc12sp5) and I do not need any patch (surely not CI=S85394A because I checked the existence in the system) to have "unlimited" message length.

I just checked and made a 5 minute message (Welcom). Recording is ok and he message is played for the full length when needed.
